Understanding and Optimizing Your Profile

Every Profoundly Certified Pro is provided with a personalized marketplace profile to showcase their expertise. Think of it as your professional storefront on the platform. Customers can browse profiles and engage with you directly, or visit your profile after reviewing your proposal and/or the discovery call to validate their decision to work with you. It is also a primary input to our AI matching engine — the better your profile, the more matches you'll receive and the better those matches will be.

Completing Your Profile

Step 1: Start by signing into the app. From https://profound.ly/ click the CTA in the upper right:

Step 5: Complete your profile.

Your profile consists of the following core components:

1. Photo or Logo

Why it matters: Your photo is often the first human element prospects encounter. It can make the difference between feeling like they're hiring a stranger versus connecting with a trusted expert. Use a photo that builds trust and connection.

What works:

  • Recent, professional-looking photograph that looks approachable
  • Professional but not stiff -- you want prospects to feel comfortable reaching out
  • Consistent with your brand across all platforms
Be mindful of your background in photos and on your discovery calls. A messy background can inadvertently but materially erode your credibility. Same goes for linkedin banners like "Open to Work." It's worth the time to avoid them.

The psychology: People do business with people they know and trust. A welcoming photo starts building that relationship before you ever speak.

Note: You're also welcome to use your company logo instead of a photo if you prefer.

2. Headline

Your headline is intended to communicate who you are, who you serve, what problems you solve, and what makes you exceptional.

What works:

"12+ Year HubSpot Architect & Former HubSpotter | Full-Stack RevOps & CMS Consultant"

"HubSpot Consultant | Certified Trainer | Onboarding Instructor | HubSpot Coaching That Transforms Confusion Into Clarity"

3. Trust-Building Introduction

Your opening lines should immediately establish the three pillars of credibility: WHO you help, HOW you help them, and WHY you're qualified to deliver results.

Example that converts:

"Hello! I'm Jan, a Marketing and Revenue Operations Consultant, with nearly 9 years of experience working with B2B clients across the HubSpot ecosystem. With a deep understanding of both marketing and sales workflows, I partner with clients by aligning their tech, teams, and processes to drive measurable growth."

This introduction works because it immediately positions Jan as specialized (RevOps + HubSpot), experienced (9 years), and outcome-focused (measurable growth).

4. Services Offered

List your specific services and specializations. This signals expertise to customers and helps the AI matching agent connect you with ideal opportunities.

Focus your list on services for which you have past references and experience.

5. Industry & Platform Expertise

Highlight the industries or platforms where you have deep experience. This helps both customers and the AI matching agent identify ideal fit opportunities.

Example approaches:

Visual, comprehensive industry list:

"Industries Served: Business Services | Consulting | Real Estate | Recruiting/Staffing | Retail | Healthcare | Fitness | Finance"

Client-based showcase:

"Some of the 50+ clients I've worked with in HubSpot include: • Broadcom • Tovuti LMS (SaaS) • Dineline (Agency) • Supreme Optimization (Marketing Firm) • Deka Lash (National Beauty Franchise) • CoverTree (Insurance Tech) • Accelerate Tax • Consensus (AI SaaS) • FranShares (Finance)"

6. Compelling Social Proof

Nothing builds confidence like evidence that you've delivered results for others. Social proof can take many forms:

  • Case studies
  • Specific project outcomes with numbers
  • Client testimonials highlighting transformation
  • Recognition from trusted sources (HubSpot, peers, industry publications)

Example testimonial:

"Jan did a tremendous job transforming our marketing and revenue operations needs within HubSpot. As a result of Jan's audit, she helped us automate several key processes and dramatically improve our customers' experience. She did this while enabling us to see and analyze key metrics and trends we hadn't been able to track previously. It has had a massive impact on our organization. I would highly recommend her to any organization looking for a world-class Admin to help fully leverage their HubSpot instance." — Casey Delker, Director of Revenue Operations, Just Fintech
"Jan helped streamline our marketing processes, implemented countless workflows to automate our quoting and order entry processes, and created a cohesive customer journey that significantly improved our conversion rates." — Courtney Houtz, Butler Technologies

Why it works: Named executive with senior title and recognizable company, specific scope of work, measurable results.

7. Certifications Matter for Matching

Don't overlook your certifications. They serve two purposes:

  • Build trust with potential customers who value credentials (we've seen customers hire pros purely because they had certain certifications)
  • Improve AI matching - The recommendation agent uses your certifications to understand your expertise and match you with relevant opportunities
Select all applicable certifications in your profile. More relevant certifications = more qualified leads coming your way.

8. Thought Leadership Content That Demonstrates Expertise

Strategic value: Published content positions you as an expert, not just a service provider.

Content opportunities:

  • Published articles in your area of expertise
  • Case studies showcasing specific results
  • Resources you've created for clients
  • Speaking engagements or industry recognition

Implementation tip: Don't reproduce the content or paste a long list of links -- briefly explain the core value the content provides (the hook), the audience, and a link to the content.

A Note on Becoming a HubSpot Partner

If you're not already part of HubSpot's Partner program, it's worth considering it as a way to further signal your expertise. While not required to succeed on Profoundly, Partner status signals a deeper commitment to the HubSpot ecosystem and can give prospects additional confidence in your expertise. For many Pros, the credibility boost and additional benefits make it a worthwhile investment.

The investment (in the form of a HubSpot subscription, which many Pros already subscribe to):

  • Partner status: $400/month product subscription

The returns:

  • Enhanced credibility and trust
  • Commission opportunities on referred business
  • Access to additional training, events, and support
  • Stronger positioning in the HubSpot ecosystem
